Data the app processes
When you choose a broker transaction-history CSV, Mark & Lot processes it on your Mac. Depending on the export, this can include security names, ticker symbols, quantities, prices, cash movements, fees, distributions, dates, broker notes, and a masked account identifier.
The app can also store independently named ledgers, journal rows, manually entered broker-balance snapshots, custom assets and dated valuations, cached market marks, derived portfolio history, watchlist symbols, local price alerts, goals, and widget preferences.
Storage and retention
Portfolio records are stored locally in the app's Application Support directory. A compact widget snapshot is shared only between Mark & Lot and its WidgetKit extension through Apple's private App Group container. It can include the selected portfolio name, marked value, covered holdings, posted income, margin debit, quote coverage, market session, and provider time.
The app does not copy an original CSV or retain its source path or filename. Local records remain until you remove a portfolio or asset, use Delete all local portfolio data, or remove the app's data from macOS. Widget privacy mode replaces monetary and performance values with neutral marks.
The current public build has no Mark & Lot account, cloud database, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or telemetry service.
Market-data requests
To retrieve market prices and historical marks, the app sends requested ticker symbols to its market-data provider. It does not include imported transactions, account identifiers, quantities, balances, notes, or broker credentials. The provider can receive normal network information such as your IP address and user agent under its own policy.
Connected brokers
Connected-account aggregation is not enabled in the current public build. If a future version adds a broker or aggregation provider, Mark & Lot will request explicit consent, identify the provider, explain the data exchanged, and provide a revocation path before connection.
Local notifications
If you create a price alert, Mark & Lot asks macOS for notification permission. Thresholds are evaluated from the app's best-effort quote responses while it is running. The rule and last-triggered time stay on this Mac and are not sent to a developer notification server.
Sharing and sale
Mark & Lot does not sell portfolio data. The current public build does not transmit imported portfolio activity to AIENGINE or share it with analytics or advertising companies.
Delete your data
Open Mark & Lot Settings, choose About, then select Delete all local portfolio data. After confirmation, the app removes normalized ledgers, custom assets, journal rows, balance evidence, quote cache, derived history, widget snapshot, watchlist, alerts, goals, and any legacy broker credentials stored by Mark & Lot. It does not delete your original CSV.
This website
This policy describes the Mac app. The AIENGINE website hosting this page receives normal web requests and uses site analytics; those website records do not contain or link to Mark & Lot portfolio activity.
